PUBLIC ART Commissions
Plaisir’s Public Art designs captures the exquisite essence of nature using cut aluminum. They feature intricate shapes inspired by organic, crystalline, and marine forms, reminiscent of delicate lace. These shapes are symbolic of the fluidity and responsiveness of water and air, which are indispensable elements in our existence.
Through these pieces, Plaisir explores the interplay between nature and freedom by exploring an environment that blends both sources of inspiration seamlessly.
A JOURNEY
2023-2024
Terrazzo floor | Terminal 1 Fort Laudersale Airport , Florida , USA
"A Journey" displays a serene blue backdrop with intricate branches, roots, large pink flowers, green buds, and golden leaves. The artwork symbolizes the identity of South Florida, shaped by the vibrant cultures of Latin America, the Caribbean Islands, and the rich Native American heritage. The intertwining branches and roots recall the mixing of cultures, stories and Histories that connect and speak to each other, but also the attachment of migratory flows to the Floridian soil. This cultural amalgamation, emblematic of our region, also acts as a mirror reflecting the global diversity and the cultural distinctions that define our contemporary society.
The artwork spans 1,578 square feet in the pedestrian bridge walkway connecting Terminal 1 to the Hibiscus garage
